This is how we want to do business
Honesty
A healthy relationship — personal or otherwise — must be based on trust. Trust requires a commitment to honesty in every interaction and every conversation. Common Context, LLC is dedicated to honesty, and we will attempt to be as transparent as possible when dealing with clients, suppliers, vendors, etc.
Integrity
Simply put, we'll do our best to do what we say...always.
Charity
Common Context, LLC believes in giving back to the communities of which we are a part. The South African word ubuntu translates roughly into the concept of shared success and/or failure...basically, it says "we are all in this together, and I am succesful only when you are successful, and vice versa."
In that spirit of connectedness, we will attempt to participate in (and in some cases donate to) various open-source projects and development communities, as well as local social organizations and ministries. These donations could be monetary, or they could involve time spent working, training, providing support, or offering other forms of assistance. If we see a need, we believe it's our obligation to help meet that need.
Humility
While the world of business seems to think a successful company needs a certain swagger and bravado, we will instead hope to display confidence and conviction (yes, there is a difference). We won't pretend that our opinion is the only right opinion. We will remember that meeting the needs and desires of our client is more important than feeding our ego.
Capability
Common Context, LLC is dedicated to maintaining technical competence in the areas in which we provide assistance. We will try not to overextend our presence in markets and technology sectors in which we have no experience and no competence. If we're not sure how to do something you want us to do, we'll tell you. We're always willing to learn (see next value), but you deserve the truth.
Curiosity
Some folks think that the ever-changing nature of technology in this Information Age is a curse...we believe it's an opportunity, or better yet a series of opportunities. We're constantly surveying the technology landscape in search of ways to build on and extend the capabilities of today's tools. It's well established that change for the sake of change is not necessarily a good thing, but we shouldn't be afraid of new technology so long as it provides clear advantages, sufficient interoperability, and reasonable upgradability relative to older, established solutions.
